At SmileCode Dental, we believe that clarity is the key to a good and long-lasting relationship. In an effort to ensure your dental appointment is as pleasant and predictable as possible, we would like to give you an overview of our office policies. SmileCode Dental is honoured to be your dental care provider. We are committed to making your visit a comfortable one, and we are happy you value your oral health just as much as we do, and that you trust us to manage it.

Insurance Coverage Policies

Due to the Canadian Personal Privacy Act (see our privacy policy), we are unable to access any specific information from your dental insurance regarding your dental plan. It is ultimately your responsibility to know the parameters of your coverage, such as annual maximums, frequencies, renewal dates, and any other information. For your convenience, we also extend the option of direct billing (also called assignment). However, a valid credit card must be on file and your insurance company must accept this service. Please be advised that we do not accept direct billing for Orthodontic procedures; therefore we require payment on the day of service (or those payment arrangements have been made).

Appointment Policies

As a courtesy, we send out hygiene reminder emails to your 4 weeks prior to a requested appointment. As well, we send a courtesy reminder the day before all appointments. Although we make every effort to contact you prior to any appointment, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that you are able to attend your appointment, unless other arrangements have been in advance with our office.

Should something arise, we ask that you please provide us with 2 business days’ notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Because we value your time, we do not double book our clients. As such, your appointment is valuable time that the dentist has reserved specifically for you. Where insufficient notice is given, a missed appointment fee may be charged to you, or we may require you to prepay to reserve your next appointment.
