Done on a regular basis, scaling and root planing can successfully remove tartar, plaque, and bacteria from areas below the gum line that are hard to reach so that you can achieve healthy gums from top to bottom!
At SmileCode Dental, our cleaning and preventative care appointment involves more than just cleaning your teeth. A thorough assessment of your oral health, including your gums, tissues, and teeth will be done. The hygienist will remove any plaque and tartar on your teeth through the process of scaling. Patient education is also a priority during these visits so that you will have the tools, knowledge, and services you need to keep your mouth healthy at home. Our Hygiene team also offers extra services such as oral cancer screening, whitening procedures, sealants to prevent decay, laser therapy for advanced gum disease, and much more.
SmileCode Dental understands that every patient is unique and will therefore require a unique hygiene schedule. Many patients come in twice a year for a hygiene appointment, while it might be beneficial for other patients to visit us every 3-4 months. Others still might only require a hygiene appointment every 9-12 months. How often you see us for a Cleaning and Preventative care visit will ultimately depend on your individual circumstances, lifestyle, and oral health needs.
